Amit Malviya is from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and he has been in charge of BJP IT Cell. Amit Malviya is an Indian politician serving as the national convener of the IT cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Amit Malviya is a Famous Indian Politician and Ex Banker also, who was born in Uttar Pradesh, India. Amit Malviya serves as the national in charge of the Information & Technology department for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Amilt Malviya also holds the position of co-incharge for West Bengal.  Additionally, he was a member of the BJPs National Executive before his involvement in politics. His interests lie in politics and economics both.

In 2015, Amit Malviya moved to Delhi to lead the BJPs IT Cell, his involvement with the BJP started in 2009 when he helped start the Friend of BHP group. The forum aimed to publicise the party and bring it to power. In December 2020, Twitter flagged a tweet by the Malviya about the farmers protest as manipulated by the media.

Amit Malviya is from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. He pursued his Bachelor of Business Management at Dayalbagh Educational Institute in Agra, Uttar Pradesh from 1995 to 1998. He further studied a PGDM in Finance and System from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies in Pune, Maharashtra from 1998 to 2000.

He worked with many financial and banking institutions like ICICI Bank, HSBC and Bank of America. While working in Mumbai he was impressed by Piyush Goyal with his sharp understanding and methodology of using the emerging technology.

It was Piyush Goyal who was instrumental in him getting plum post with the party in a short time, he went on to work in the banking sector for a year. Amit Malviya is married. Amit Malviya faced criticism for sharing a collage of pictures of Jawaharlal Nehru, India with various women on social media.

Piyush Goyal and Amit Malviya together launched an SMS campaign to help BJP win more seats in the then-upcoming Lok Sabha elections. They urged people to join the group by logging into friendsofbjp.org. In 2020 he co- authored the book The Citizenship Debate, CAA & NRC with Salman Khurshid.

In 2009, Amit Malviya gained prominence in the BJP through the forum Friends of BJP, this he was made head of the BJP IT Cell in the year 2015. The BJP appointed him as the co-incharge to oversee party affairs in West Bengal ahead of the 2012 Legislative Assembly elections in the state.

In December 2019, Amit Malviya posted a video alleging protesters in Lucknow were chanting a Pakistan Zindabad during an anti-CAA rally. In October 2022, Amit Malviya took legal action against The Wire, a news portal accusing the founder and others of defamation for alleging that Meta.

In August 2023, Amit Malviya faced criticism from Sachin Pilot, a senior Congress leader for inaccurately claiming that Pilot’s father bombed Mizoram during his time as an air force pilot. Pilot provided evidence contradicting Malaviya’s statement.

June 2024, In the wake of demand by the Congress that strict action should be initiated against the Chief Amit Malviya, accused of sexually harassing women an RSS member, Santanu Sinha who is alleged to have made the charge against the BJP leader.

Allegations on Amit Malviya

In June 2024, Amit Malviya was accused of sexual exploitation by a worker from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The allegations prompted the Indian National Congress to demand Amit Malviya’s removal from his role in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Addressing press conference 10 June, Congress social media and digital platforms chairperson supriya shrinate said that it would not be possible to get the allegations against the Malviya also the BJPs West Bengal co-in charge fairly investigated unless he is removed from all organisational posts.

In a press conference Shrinate urged the government for immediate removal of Amit Malviya from his position and stating that the only thing they seek from the BJPs is for justice for women.

The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday stayed investigation into an FIR filed by the Bengaluru police against BJP social media chief Amit Malviya. As of now there has been no public response from Amit Malviya and BJP regarding these accusations. The incident is currently under investigation.
