WWE Speed Championship 2024 Date, Prize Money, and Expected Competitors

WWE has announced the date for the short matches WWE Speed that will exclusively premier on X. According to the announcement, the new WWE show will commence a new championship. Let’s get you familiar with this new concept of WWE Speed.

Previously, the fans have seen the concept of short matches tested in December 2023 on a SmackDown show. WWE introduced the five-minute matches, and it was a success. The fans enjoyed the trial short matches of WWE. 

Seeing the positive response, the company revealed in February 2024 that they will premier a WWE show called WWE Speed on the social media platform X (Twitter). 

On 27 March 2024, WWE released a video featuring Corey Groves sharing 3 April 2024 as the debut date of the WWE Speed.

According to the announcement, the duration of matches has been cut down to three minutes from the earlier five-minute concept for the upcoming WWE Speed Show. The company has introduced the WWE Speed Championship through this WWE Speed show. 

The WWE Speed Championship is the new title after the establishment of the 2023 World Heavyweight Championship.

Concept of WWE Speed Championship 

In a recent video, Corey Groves explained the concept of the WWE speed where your favorite superstars of WWE will go head-on for 3 minutes straight. 

According to sources, the WWE has already begun recording the WWE Speed matches before the matches of SmackDown and Raw, so the WWE Speed show will not premiere live on X. 

The concept of WWE Speed ensures that every second of the match counts. It will be hard for the contestants to tell a story in three minutes and convey it to the audience. 

With this concept, WWE expects to showcase the talent and some superstars who are not regular on Raw and SmackDown. The company aims to provide a bigger platform like social media to the talents and make their name in the realm of WWE. 

The concept of WWE Speed will test the strength, agility, and speed of the contestants. The fans can expect a fresh, dynamic, and action-packed concept of WWE through this new WWE Speed Championship.  

Prize Money of the WWE Speed Championship 

The winner of the WWE Speed will hold the first-ever title of the WWE Speed Championship. At the end of the show, the ultimate winner of the WWE Speed Championship will be crowned with the title of WWE Speed Champion. The belt of WWE Speed and prize money will be announced by the WWE company soon. 

Expected Competitors of WWE Speed Championship

WWE has not announced anything about the contestants of the WWE Speed Championship or other details of the tournament. This gives us a chance to predict some professional wrestlers for the WWE Speed Championship. 

Here’s our list of wrestlers that you could see in the upcoming Speed Championship: 

• Axiom 

Axiom had gained popularity on NXT through his stellar performance. His real name is Carlos Ruiz, a Spanish wrestler. He has performed well in his recent matches and has shown his strength in fast-paced combat. 

According to the reports, he has received praise from backstage for his speed and agility.  His speed and fast-paced style of wrestling make him a good fit for the WWE Speed Show. 

• Ricochet 

Since the announcement of the WWE Speed Championship, one name that has come for the tournament is Ricochet. 

Over the years, Ricochet has made his name as one of the wrestlers who holds great physicality and great hold on his body. 

It would be great to see him on the show as he hasn’t appeared much on TV, the tournament will give him a platform to showcase his talent.

• Ivar

Ivar has the potential to end matches quickly, which resonates with the concept of WWE speed. The factor of speed can create problems in including his name in the tournament, but it would be great to see him in the WWE Speed Championship.

• Nathan Frazer

Nathan Frazer is Axiom’s tag partner, and his speed is exceptional in the matches. Some officials even think it’s hard for other players to keep up with his pace.

So, it would be great if WWE gave him the WWE Speed platform to show his strength and spread the magic of his speed in the tournament. 

Apart from these, many names like Shinsuke Nakamura, Dragon Lee, etc, could fit in the new concept of WWE.
