The government has released the next installment of the PM-KISAN scheme on 28 February 2024. Beneficiaries who have completed the PM-KISAN KYC would only receive the amount in their account. So, farmers who haven’t done their e-KYC would need to complete the e-KYC quickly.

The central scheme of the Indian government, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), was launched in 2018. Since then, the government has been providing financial aid of Rs 6000 annually to all the registered beneficiaries of the scheme in three installments in a year. 

Till now, the government has transferred 16 installments through the DBT to the accounts of the registered beneficiaries of the scheme. Now onwards, the government has made it mandatory for the farmers to have the PM KISAN KYC done to receive the PK KISAN benefits. 

The PM KISAN KYC is still open, so if you haven’t done it, do it quickly to become eligible for your next PM KISAN payment. 

The PM KISAN e-KYC could be done in three following modes:

  • OTP Based on PM KISAN e-KYC
  • Biometric-based 
  • Face authentication-based through the PM KISAN app.

Steps to know your e-KYC status of PM KISAN

Before you move to complete your PM KISAN e-KYC, you must check your e-KYC status on the portal to get aware of your KYC status under the scheme. Follow the steps to check the status of PM KISAN e-KYC:

  1. Go to the official website of the PM KISAN mentioned above.
  2. Find the “Beneficiary List” option in the Farmer’s Corner section of the website.
  3. Next, enter the asked details, such as State, District, etc. 
  4. A report will appear on your screen, where you can see the status of your e-KYC.

How to complete your OTP-based PM KISAN e-KYC?

The beneficiary needs his Aadhar card in hand to complete his e-KYC on the PM KISAN portal or website. Follow the steps below to update your PM KISAN e-KYC status:

  1. Go to the official website of the PM-KISAN mentioned above.
  2. Find the e-KYC option in the Farmer’s Corner section of the website.
  3. Click on “e-KYC” and enter your Aadhar number on the next page.
  4. Next, click on the “Search button” and next, enter your Aadhar-linked mobile number.
  5. Click on “Send OTP” to receive OTP on your entered mobile number.
  6. Enter the sent OTP on the page and submit the OTP. 
  7. After the verification of OTP, the portal will show that your e-KYC is done successfully. 

How to get your Biometric-based e-KYC done under the PM KISAN scheme?

The beneficiary farmers who have to get their biometric KYC need to visit their nearby Common Service Centers (CSC) to get their PM KISAN e-KYC done. You may have to pay Rs 15 for PM KISAN e-KYC at CSC.

Follow the steps for Biometric based KYC:

  1. Go and visit your nearby CSC or state Seva Kendra.
  2. Make sure you have your Aadhar card and the mobile phone with the Aadhar-linked number.
  3. Now, approach the CSC operator, he will assist you in performing the biometric KYC update using your Aadhar. 
  4. After the successful biometric e-KYC update, make sure you collect the receipt of the service. 

How to get your PM KISAN e-KYC done through the PM KISAN app face-authentication-based e-KYC?

The farmers can complete the PM KISAN e-KYC through face-authentication mode as well. It is the most convenient way to update your PM-KISAN e-KYC status. Follow the steps to complete your face authentication-based e-KYC:

  1. First, you must download the PM KISAN mobile application on your phone. 
  2. Next, make an account on the app through your registered number.
  3. Log in to the app and move to the beneficiary status of the PM KISAN app.
  4. Click on e-KYC to update your PM-KISAN KYC, if your beneficiary status shows that you haven’t updated the PM-KISAN e-KYC.
  5. Next, enter your Aadhar card number on the interface and give your permission to scan your face.
  6. After your permission, the face-authentication technology will scan your face. 
  7. Your KYC will update after successful face authentication on the app.

You can check your KYC status after 24 hrs of updating the PM KISAN e-KYC. 

The next installment of PM KISAN will be transferred to the farmers’ account in June-July 2024, so you must update your e-KYC status on the portal to receive the payment timely. And farmers, who haven’t received their 16th installment must complete the KYC process immediately to receive your payment.
