According to the SSC examination calendar for 2024-25, the commission would have released the notification on 29 February 2024 but the notification got delayed. Now, interested candidates can expect the notification released on 28 March 2024 for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying & contracts).
The JE examinations happen once a year to select eligible candidates for the post of Junior Engineer in government organizations and ministries. The JE examination is an opportunity for engineering graduates to apply for a government job.

Pay details of SSC JE 2024
According to the salary structure, the pay scale of the SSC JE is up to the Level 6 pay matrix (Rs 35, 400 – 1,12,400). The selected candidates also get other allowances with pay, such as:

- Cash medical Benefit
- House Rent allowance.

Eligibility of the SSC JE 2024
The applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the upcoming SSC JE 2024 examinations:
- Age Limit: The candidates must fall under the age group of 18 to 32 years for the SSC JE 2024. There is age relaxation based on governmental guidelines.
- Educational Qualification: The applicant must be an engineering graduate in the respective stream he wishes to apply for Civil, electrical, and mechanical from a recognized university.
- Citizenship: The applicant must hold Indian citizenship to apply for SSC JE 2024.

Selection Process of SSC JE 2024
The SSC JE selection proceeds in the following three stages:
- Paper I – Online test of a total of 200 marks. The duration of the Paper 1 is around 2 hours covering subjects like General Intelligence, general awareness, and the stream of engineering you have applied for.
- Paper II – It’s a stage II exam, where candidates have to go through a computer-based test. The test covers the stream of engineering you have applied for and consists of 100 questions for a total of 300 marks. The duration of the Paper II of the SSC JE examination is 2 hours.
- Document Verification: After clearing Paper I and II, the next stage is document verification, the candidates are required to show the original documents to the authorities at their respective assigned centers of SSC.
Application Fee for the SSC JEE 2024
The application fee for the SSC JEE 2024 examinations will be around Rs 100. Applicants from SC/ ST, Economically weaker section, or female candidates are not liable to pay any application fees for the SSC JE 2024 applications.
