In addition to offering USD 210,000 in prize money, the global ranking competition will grant significant qualification points for the Olympic Games in Paris, which take place at the end of July.

In their round of 32 match, the Indian badminton players ranked eighth and 22nd in the BWF rankings beat the American duo of Annie Xu and Kerry Xu, 21-15, 21-12, in 39 minutes. On Wednesday, Jolly and Gopichand who never gave up during the game will find out who they will face in the round of 16.

In the singles division, the losing quarter finalists will get USD 1,260 and 3,850 BWF points apiece, while the players eliminated in the semi-finals in both categories will receive USD 3,045 and 4,900 BWF points. The prize money will be distributed in compliance with BWF procedures, totaling US$210,000.
